Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist: DR. DIANA E PAZOS PEINADO
Dr. Pazos schedules individual consultations in Sunset Bay Academy twice a month with students that require monitoring of prescribed medication and adjusting dosage when needed. Parental authorization is required to proivide consultation and treatment. She is currently the Chief of the Child and Adolescent Psychiatric Department at the Psychiatric Hospital of Tijuana. In addition, she has a private practice in child and adolescent psychiatry.¹
Dentist/ Orthodontist: DR. ALEJANDRO ZAMORA CARRILLO
Dr. Habib Kuri schedules dental or orthodontic visits for follow-up care. Parental authorization is required to provide consultation and treatment. He currently has his own private practice at Dental Zamora.¹
Optometrist/Ophthalmologist: DR. JOSE GUADALUPE AYALA
Dr. Habib Kuri schedules eye care visits when a student requires follow-up care. Parental authorization is required to provide consultation and treatment.
Nutritionist: DR. RENAN GONZALEZ
Dr. Gonzalez is responsible for the daily school menú at Sunset Bay Academy. He is available for individual consultation if your teen is in need of an individualized health diet. He is currently a full-time professor of Universidad Autonoma de Baja California (UABC),
Medical College and the current President of the Medical Federation of Baja California.¹
Group Therapy: SBA FAMILY THERAPIST
Group therapy is conducted by the licensed psychologist who is assigned as your student/family therapist. In addition, students have group therapy six-days-a-week with their SBA “school family”. This is a comprehensive service that is part of a student’s daily schedule. ²
Individual Therapy: SBA LICENSED CLINICAL PSYCHOLOGIST
Individual therapy is available to students needing intensive care due to emotional, behavioral, or social challenges. Individual therapy focuses on your teen’s personal issues and assists them with a greater understanding as to why they are currently behaving the way they do. ¹
SAT Preparation Course
SBA offers weekly courses for SAT preparation. Your teen’s SAT score is a pivotal component of their college application process. Your teen will learn strategies and techniques to assist them in obtaining a higher score. They will learn test taking techniques that will save time by focusing on the test topics that impact their score the most. Regardless of your teen’s grade level the SAT prep course can assist them by getting them excited about college and thinking about their future.¹
Parent Welcoming Committee
They are available to answer any questions or simply offer comfort in your time of need. The Parent Welcoming Committee consists of current SBA parents that “have been there before” and are eager to support other parents who are experiencing the same emotions they went through months ago.
You will be given an email address to reach them at anytime once your teen is enrolled at SBA.¹
Parent Bulletin Support-PBS
The PBS is a communication and service tool that you can access 24 hours-a-day 7 days-a-week. It is an active Bulletin Board Service of current SBA families and staff. Staff is available to answer questions, as well as provide recommendations or simply offer coaching strategies. Through the PBS, parents find tremendous support from other families who are faced with similar challenges and experiences. They will also be your greatest advocates, cheerleaders, and new found friends
.
You will receive a user name and password when your teen is enrolled at SBA.²
